Join us as we host U.S. Author Ben Shaberman who will present a humorous and heartfelt homage to the impassioned women who drive the vegan movement at a grassroots level.
He'll also read from his book, Jerry's Vegan Women, a fun, poignant, and occasionally steamy collection of fictional stories that follows the adventures of Jerry Zuckerman as he makes his way through the shelters, sanctuaries, and bedrooms of an eclectic assortment of vegan women.
Shaberman's stories, essays, articles, and commentaries have been carried by several prominent media outlets including: The Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Baltimore Sun, VegNews, Vegetarian Times, and NPR. Additionally, Shaberman's fiction and creative non-fiction have been published in a number of literary journals including: Split Infinitive, Fiction Fix,Opium Magazine, Empty Mirror, The Good Men Project, Clean Sheets Erotica Magazine, and Crunchable. Jerry's Vegan Women (2015), and Shaberman's first book, The Vegan Monologues (2009), were published by Apprentice House Press at Loyola University Maryland.
"Jerry's Vegan Women takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions, from laughter and excitement to disdain and heartbreak for what might have been. It's an irreverent and fun look at the intersection of dietary and relationship ethics. You won't want to put it down."
