SOHO: CHRISTMAS COMES EARLY PARTY

A Christmas party to end Christmas. Or start it, depending on your perspective. Crack open the winter season with on what promises to be a wild, energetic, and transgressive night of dancing, screeching, loving, camping, intimacy, and wit.

The evening will be led by the international superstar cabaret agender-madame legend Lanah P, an extremely special performer best known from the classic on the Channel 4 TV show Comic Strip Presents and also as the star of anarchist black comedy cult classic movie Eat The Rich. With backing from David Ryder Prangley (frontman of Rachel Stamp and Adam Ant bassist), she will perform a selection of bristling ballads and searing torch songs from Lanah’s repertoire of classic songs from Rita McNeil, Lou Reed, David Bowie, Anohni, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, and many others.

Later in the evening will be a weird, wonderful, and hilarious performance from Barney Ashton, performing songs from his acclaimed ‘Andy Bell Is Torsten’ project. These are songs he wrote as a character written for the Erasure frontman’s alter-ego; a polysexual, semi-immortal sensualist survivor known as The Bareback Saint. Born in 1906, but looking like a queen in her mid 40s, they have sold out shows in London and Edinburgh fringe.

Drag strongly encouraged. Getting to work on your crotchless tinsel knickers and billowy Monroe dress. Only you will know what has gone on behind the drawn curtains at The Society Club. Rugby players, get your tutus out.

Expect a very secret, special guest.
