Get your jazz shoes on for another installment from Swing it’ - a happening group of Norwegian and English musicians getting fresh on the trumpet, trombone, double bass, and drums for one night only in the bohemian environment of The Society Club Shoreditch.
Riffing in straight-ahead-jazz style, the established lingua franca of jam sessions, this huge group will make you make you break your toes for tapping. Trawling over all the way East from their weekly slot at the infamous Cecil’s Speakeasy in London Bridge, these fresh faced reprobates are all graduates of the London Centre of Contemporary Jazz. For five years Swing It’ have been delighting audiences with their tasty mixture of original material, jazz standards, and even a cheeky Walt Disney number or two.
This is not so much sexy jazz, but party jazz. Get to see a some London’s tightest, most talented, most fine musicians play at their prime, unplugged and only a few feet away. Commemorating the classic era of jazz, the defiant Southern States, prohibition roots music of the people, come and blow your mind tonight with some lethal and rare cocktails just like they did back then.
