SOHO: CLAIRE CONVILLE BOOK CLUB followed by CELINE'S SALON

After a extreme well attended and lively discussion of The Haunting Of Hill House, this month's book will be Party Going by Henry Green. Copies available from the shop. Get reading!
Party Going offers the last word on that “low, dishonest decade”, the 1930s. A group of bright young things – are on their way to a house party by train but fog rolls in and their train is delayed. So the party – quintessentially shallow, vapid and spoilt – holes up in the station hotel to wait for the fog to lift.

A perfect, dark, funny, winter gem.

Shortly after 8pm, when the bookclub finishes, there will be another installment of CELINE'S SALON. This month the theme is vinyl: "The buying, the covers, the handling, the playing, the history, the music, the clubs, the dancing, the bands, needle on decks, the scratching, the mixing...everybody loves vinyl". Featuring Celine herself, resident talents Seki Lynch and Lucy Lyrical; talented regular Tom McColl; new spoken word from Isabelle Bernholdt; the beautiful voice of Laura Stark; comedy from Emma Rose and Taha; poetry from Santa Semeli; and special guest author Stephen Coates!"
