Travel writer and journalist Simon Gandolfi first visited India in the 60s, driving a VW canvas-topped utility vehicle across Europe, Afghanistan and Pakistan, to Goa, where he met and fell in love with Vanessa. Together they traveled much of the continent. Forty years later, Simon returned to India as a septuagenarian on a solo motorbike tour of the country, travelling 16,000km on a Honda 125, revisiting both the country and the memories of his travels with Vanessa. The book chronicles this journey and is his third book. Previous journeys have included a long-distance ride from Mexico to the southernmost tip of South America, Tierra del Fuego, and a later journey from Tierra del Fuego to New York City.
