SOHO: PSYCHOGEOGRAPHIC TALK AND BACKGAMMON NIGHT

From the ancient hypnotic clacks tapping away in ouzo-fuelled rural Greece to the century old cashmere sea of The Ritz, the Mediterranean pastime appears today to have a renewed vogue. Modern masters of fiction such as Booker Prize winning DBC Pierre and New York Times bestseller Jonathan Lethem have both written of their obsession with the game.

Tonight, our backgammon playing will be complimented by a talk from one of our members Simon Matthews on his fascinating and unusual day job: wondering the city finding dilapidated and liminal spaces that almost nobody owns or are chronically underused. This promises to be an evening that will forever slightly change the way you view this behemoth of a city.

All members welcome. Michael and Heathcote will be on hand to teach all those who are new to the game of Backgammon, or have simply forgotten how to play.
