Published by Ives Washburn, 1931

This copy of Baudelaire’s widely adored volume of hedonistic and erotic poetry, ‘Flowers of Evil’ or ‘Les Fleurs du Mal’, is translated by Lewis Piaget Shanks and illustrated by the visual artist Major Felten, known for his dramatic and flamboyant posters, presented in a pink, silver and black slip-cased binding. The two eras go hand in hand, oozing the decadence of the flâneur, presented with the flair of the excessive Art Deco styling.
