Book Description
Confusingly titled 1988, Caroline Coon's book was actually published in the white heat of punk, in 1977. It is an essential insider's view of the movement with illuminating pictures, lyrics and interviews with The Clash, Pistols, Stranglers, Damned, Slits and others. Coon compiled the volume as punk was unfolding. The author has gone on to a career as a journalist and independent artist, showing her work at the Tate Modern and Saatchi Gallery.
