The sequel to Loos' 1925 bestseller Gentlemen Prefer Blondes which first introduced Lorelei and Dorothy. But Gentlemen Marry Brunettes chronicles Dorothy’s search for a husband and of her rise in social circles, and, having married saxophone player Lester, her discovery that marriage is not everything she wanted it to be. Rare in its original, fragile dust wrapper, with great 1920 flapper design by Ralph Barton, who also provided the book's illustrations. It was loosely adapted into a musical comedy in 1955 starring Jane Russell.
